1. Lynette here, welcome to the blog today. I am sharing my take on the October mood board. When my son, Wynand, sent me these cute photos of Lukas and Eben I just knew that I wanted to use ALL the photos to tell the story.

    The Mood board:

I used different acrylic paints to create a rust effect on the industrial chipboard pieces.

I clustered the various chipboard pieces around the photos.

The Chipboard titles were heat embossed.

I just love how fun and rustic this page turned out.

  2. Lynette here, welcome to the blog today. I have the pleasure of sharing some inspiration for October.  My favourite place is the beach.  This photo documents a long walk on the beach and finding a precious pansy shell.  The shell is very delicate and fragile, so this page will be framed to protect the shell.  I used papers from the Penelope Dee Tidal Florals collection.

    Some close up details:
I decided that I wanted to let the photos and the pansy shell take center stage, so I kept the embellishing to the minimum.

I heat embossed the word chipboards.

The sand dollars and the sea grass was painted with acrylic paint.

The Pansy Shell takes center stage and to protect it this page will be framed.

I love the added texture of hand stitching on my pages.

The final touch was added by splattering some gold twinkling H2O in gold and adding a few enamel dots around the page.

    Until next time.  Happy crafting.

  5. Lynette here, welcome to the blog today. I am sharing my take on the September mood board. I used a photo of my beautiful daughter taken on her wedding day.

    The beautiful Moodboard:

    Some close up images:
I first prepared my background by applying distress inks in the complimentary colours along the edges of the white cardstock.  I then matted the cardstock on a patterned paper.

I painted the lilies with acrylic paint and shaded it.  When I wanted to add it to my page it was just too bright so I diluted white acrylic paint with water and gave the lilies and leaves a white wash to soften the colours.

I have started to hand stitch on my pages again and I love the texture that it adds.  I added some white 49 and Market lilies and die cut foliage.

Lastly I added some soft blue pearls and two vellum butterflies.  I love how a mood board can be used to make either a bright layout or a muted one, depending on your photos.

  6. Lynette here, welcome to the blog today. I have the pleasure of sharing some inspiration for August.  My favourite place is the beach.  This photo documents our first visit to the beach when restrictions were lifted in February 2021. I used papers from the Penelope Dee Paradise collection.  So good to feel the sand between our toes again.

    Some close up details:
I used a very simple design for this page and went back to one of my passions...that is stitching on my pages.  The seagulls were painted with white acrylic paint.

This mini jelly fish are just adorable.  I painted it with white acrylic paint and then just added touches of blue and pink to it.

The fish net was painted with acrylic brown paint and the sea grass and shells were first painted white and then with touches of pink and blue acrylic paint.  The title was heat embossed with white embossing powder.

Again the fish net was painted with brown acrylic paint and the shells and seagull with white acrylic paint the shells were touched with blue and pink paint and the seagull was shaded with Oxide ink in Hickory Smoke.

  7. Hi there,  It is such a delight to work with the new Penelope Dee Gardenia collection.  The colours of this collection is just perfect for our recent sunset photoshoot.

I used white cardstock as the background.  Antique Linen Distress Ink was added through the stencil to the background.   The photo was matted on GLORIOUS.

A large block of GLORIOUS was used and hand stitching was added around the edges.  A strip of DELIGHTFUL and a banner cut from ENCHANTED (B-side) was layered over this.

A strip of DELIGHTFUL bordered with a punched border from ENCHANTED (B-side) was added along the top of the page and handstitched.  A tag was cut from of GRACEFUL (b-side) and layered over the doily behind the photo.

The page was then embellished with a chipboard title and heart and various fussy cut elements and die cut butterflies.  The gold Nuvo glitter drops were the final touch.

  10. I used the Penelope Dee WILD AND FREE collection to document these cute photos of my grandson.

    Some close up images:

White card stock was stitched to NATURAL patterned paper. I cut strips from the SERENE and WILDERNESS papers and used the b-side to frame the three photos.  A circle was cut from the CAREFREE paper to create a home for the title.  Crushed Olive and Antique Linen Distress Oxide was stamped onto the background to frame the photo cluster. Circles, the Wonder definition, a ticket and a few leaves were cut from the fussy cutting sheet to embellish the page.
