You make me Happy - Carta Bella (Flower garden) - Scrapbook Studio Event

Hallo there.  I am sharing the class page for The Event at Scrapbook Studio last weekend.  I used the beautiful Carta Bella Flower Garden collection.  All the elements were digital and had to be fussy cut.  The photos of my beautiful grandchildren were perfect for this collection.

Supply list:  Patterned paper:  Carta Bella (Flower Garden); Cardstock:  American Craft;  Die cuts:  Carta Bella (Flower Carden); Pearls:  FabScraps; Flowers:  Celebr8; Embroidery Floss:  DMC; Twine:  WeR Memory Keepers; Other Mediums:  Little Birdie Mixed Media Paste; Stencil:  Kaisercraft; Border Punch:  Fiskars.

Some close ups:
I love the Little Birdie Mixed Media is so thick and dimensional.

The little banners echo the colours of the patterned papers.

I printed the digital embellishments on water colour paper and then fussy cut it.

The hand stitching adds awesome texture.  All the little flowers were fussy cut from one of the patterned papers.

I added some paper flowers from Celebr8 to the fussy cut flowers and finished it off with a sprinkling of pearls.

Thank you for visiting my blog today.  I hope you are inspired to create something pretty ♥♥

Vacation - CSI285 - Crate Paper (Oasis)

Hello there.  It is the mid month reveal over at Color Story Inspiration.  It is a real cute case file again and has a tropical feel.  I decided to scrap a photo taken during our summer vacation in 2018 at Hole-in-the-Wall.  I dug into some of my old Hip Kit club kits and used mainly Crate Paper (Oasis) and Amy Tan (On a Whim) goodies.  Here is my page:

Supply list:  Patterned paper:  Crate Paper (Oasis), Amy Tan (On a Whim); Cardstock:  American Craft; Title sticker:  Crate Paper (Oasis); Chipboard Camera:  Pink Fresh Studio, Chipboard Flamingo and hearts:  Hip Kit Exclusives; Buttons:  Crate Paper (Oasis); Stickers:  Crate Paper (Oasis); Sequins: Maggie Holmes; Die cuts:  Crate Paper (Oasis); Embroidery Floss:  DMC; Other Mediums: Little Birdie Texture Paste; Other:  Cut file by Handipaper.

The case file:

I like to use the case file in the traditional way:

The Scheme:  All the colours were used.

Evidence: Pattern with leaves, stripes, flowers, flamingos, wet medium, camera, summer accents, buttons.

Testimony:  I documented something about a summer vacation and used "Vacation"as my title.

Some close ups:
I first added texture paste to my woodgrain background and set it aside to dry.  I then backed my Handipaper cut file with patterned papers in the colours of the Scene.

I added some foam to the back of the cut file to add dimension to my page.  I matted my photo on blue patterned paper and then added my title to the top of the photo.

I dug into my stash to collect all the evidence for the case.  Who knew I will ever use a flamingo on a page?

I added some stickers, buttons and tucked leaf die cuts and a fussy cut flower behind my photo.

Pineapples are summer accents...yes?  Well they also made it onto the page.

I added stitching with a few gold sequins around the border of my page.  I just love how colourful this page is and I now wish I was on vacation again.

Thank you for visiting my blog.  Please play along with these stand a good chance to win some gorgeous prizes. ♥♥

To infinity and beyond - Lady Pattern Paper - Monsters in Space

Do you have little boys in your life?  I am blessed with 5 grandsons.  When the new Lady Pattern Paper Monsters in Space collection arrived I actually remembered photos of my grandson Lukas taken on this 4th birthday party.  The theme was Toy Story and he wore a Buzz Lightyear costume.  The photo was perfect for the collection.

Supply list: Patterned paper:  Lady Pattern Paper (Monsters in Space); Cardstock:  American Craft; Letter Stickers: Pink Fresh Studio; Embroidery Thread:  DMC;  Mixed Media:  Stickles in various colours; Other:  Sequins from my stash.

Some close ups:
I used two sheets of Monsters in Space – Space Party papers. The one I used as the background and the other I fussy cut the monsters and the “Let’s Party”.

I then drew a circle roughly in the middle of the background paper and pierced holes to do some hand stitching.

I added some aqua and green sequins to my stitching.

When that was complete I added the fussy cut elements to the background with foam circles.

I added Stickles to the fussy cut elements.

I then cut some planets and space ships from the Monsters In Space – Orion’s Pod paper.

I then adhered the elements along the stitching lines to orbit around my photo. I used a square 5×5 inch photo and some puffy alphas to add “To Infinity and Beyond”.

Thank you for visiting my blog today.  I hope you were inspired and that you will get your "Monsters in Space" collection from your local scrapbook store.

CSI #284 Read - Maggie Holmes (Chasing Dreams)

Hello there.  It is the 1st of June reveal over on Color Story Inspiration.  This remains my all time favourite challenge site and I am so privileged to be on the Design Team.  The colours and clues are an awesome way of stash busting.  Here is my take on the Case File:

Supply list:  Patterned papers:  Maggie Holmes (Chasing Dreams), Kaisercraft (grey woodgrain); Acetate with gold glitter dots:  Maggie Holmes; Cardstock:  American Craft; Letter Stickers:  Elle's Studio; Wood Veneer:  Elle's Studio; Chipboard:  Maggie Holmes (Chasing Dreams), Pink Fresh Studio (frame); Puffy Hearts:  Elle's Studio; Die cuts:  Maggie Holmes (Chasing Dreams), Shimelle (Little by Little); Embroidery Floss:  DMC; Other Silhouette Cameo; Cut file:  Paige Evans.

The case file:

This is how I solved the case file in the traditional way:

Scheme:  All the colours used.

Evidence:  Wood, woodgrain, stripes, chevron, frame, tags, flowers, stack things (books and typewriter), transparent item (acetate with gold glitter behind the photo), puffy stickers.

Testimony:  I used the inspiration word "Read" and my journaling is a quote by Chloe Thurlow:  "When you lose yourself in a book the hours grow wings and fly".

Some close ups:
I used an awesome "half flower" cut file by Paige Evans and traced around it on the other side to do some hand stitching.

You can see the acetate specialty paper with the gold glitter dots peeking out behind the photo.

The READ alphabet stickers and yellow hearts are all by Elle's Studio.

The patterned papers are all by Maggie Holmes (Chasing Dreams) and this is a perfect way of using up your scraps.  I stacked the books die cut on top of the typewriter.  Both the die cuts are by Shimelle (Little by Little).

I popped up the entire cut file on a piece of fun foam and I love the dimension and the shadow it creates.

Thank you for visiting my blog today ♥  I challenge you to come and play along with the CSI challenges...there are some awesome prizes up for grabs.
