4 Today - August 2016 Hip Kit - Stash busting

Hello there

I have made a good dent in a few of my older Hip Kits and I will be sharing the pages I made using my stash over the next few weeks.  Today I am concentrating on the Amy Tan (Oh Happy Life) papers and embellishments that were part of the August 2016 Hip Kit.  I am scrapping photos that was taken in 2016 of my grandson Juan at his 4th birthday party.  I am delighted with how well this one turned out.  Here it is:

Supplies used:  Patterned paper:  Amy Tan (Oh Happy Life),  Crate (Cute Girl), Studio Calico (yellow paper); Cardstock:  American Craft; Wood veneer: Studio Calico (stars and arrows); Chipboard Title:  Dear Lizzy (Saturday); Chipboard 4:  Maggie Holmes (Gather); Puffy Stars:  Elle's Studio; Clear Stickers:  Amy Tan (Oh Happy Life); Buttons:  Stash; Acrylic Shapes: My Minds Eye; Embroidery Floss:  DMC; Mist:  Prima Color Bloom (Soft Teal); Stencil:  Heidi Swapp; Glitter: Finnabair; Punches: WeR Memory Keepers tab punch, Spellbinders label (behind "4")

You know how much I love to use sketches:

Some close ups:
I love how the acrylic shapes shine.

A lot of hand stitching and a big statement title.

I die cut the blue label from a card in the ephemera pack.

Lots of stars added to the stitching.

I covered the wood veneer arrows with Glossy Accents and then poured gold glitter over it.

Here you get a better idea of the dimension of the page.  I love it when my older stash gets used and a memory is documented.

Have you got a huge stash?  Have you ever challenged yourself to use your stash and stop buying?  Thank you for visiting my blog today, I hope you found some inspiration here.

  2. Oh I have been forced to stop buying by not having a local scrap shop..hehe.. so that has been a good motivator to just use what I have... This layout is gorgeously fun and colorful and love your take on the sketch too... great memories!
