Wonderful - Teresa Collins Something Wonderful

Hallo there.  At the end of last year I made a decision that I will have a "no buying new stash" this year.  I don't think I will be able to use up my extensive stash in my lifetime.  I have already destashed the goodies that aren't my style or that I am just not in love with.  I busted out the much older Teresa Collins (Something Wonderful) collection.   This photo on this page goes back to April 2013 when Stefan was just a little baby.

Supply list:  Patterned paper:  Teresa Collins (Something Wonderful); Cardstock:  American Craft; Letter Stickers:  Teresa Collins tile stickers; Wood Veneer title:  Teresa Collins (Something Wonderful); Brads:  Teresa Collins; Enamel Shapes: Teresa Collins, My Minds Eye; Die Cuts: Teresa Collins; Twine: Felicity Jane; Embroidery Floss: DMC; Ink:  Distress Ink (Iced Spruce); Stencil: Tim Holtz; Border Punch:  EK Success; Other:  Flower trim from my stash.

I used this Page Map as inspiration:

Some close ups:

I stenciled ink to break the white background and then built my layers.

The little flags were perfect embellishments for this sketch.  I embellished them with stickers and enamel shapes.

I used embellishments from the collection to add around the page.  The tile stickers were also part of the collection.

I heat embossed the wood veneer title.

I knew I had this floral trim somewhere in my stash and it was quite a search before I eventually found it.  The colour of the trim perfectly compliments the collection.

It feels good to use stash and get another memory documented.  Thank you for visiting my blog today♥

The Good Life - Paige Evans (Oh my Heart)

Hallo there.  I often find inspiration when I see beautiful pages by other designers.  I fell in love with the star cut file created by Virginia Walker and used in one of her classes in Big Picture Classes.  I used the Paige Evans Oh My Heart collection and cut the stars from a single sheet of paper.

Supply list:  Patterned Paper:  Paige Evans (Oh my Heart); Cardstock:  American Craft; Puffy stickers:  Paige Evans (Oh my Heart); Die Cuts:  Paige Evans (Oh my Heart); Enamel stars: Cocoa Vanilla Studio; Embroidery Floss:  DMC; Silhouette Cut file:  Virginia Walker (aka Gold Dove Crafts)

Some close ups:
The stars are really so pretty.  It was a lot of work, but so worthwhile.

I arranged the stars by colour to create a rainbow effect.

Before I started my page, I hand stitched four circles to arrange the stars onto.

I raided my Cocoa Vanilla stash to get matching enamel stars.

Each star was folded, foam dots added to it so that it will not go flat in my album and then stuck onto white cardstock and cut out.

Here you can see the awesome dimension the stars have.  Love it♥

Thank you for visiting my blog today.  I hope you are inspired to go out and create.

Blessed - CSI #271 - Kaisercraft Silver Bells

Hello there.  The Color Story Inspiration case file 271 is a "cold case"and calls for you to use your older stash in a prominent way.  I just love the soft colour palette of this one and I dug out the Kaisercraft Silver Bells collection that has been untouched in my stash since 2015.  I don't normally scrap themed paper but this one is just perfect for this challenge and for the photo that I used.  The photo was taken on Christmas Eve 2018.  Here is my page:

Supply list:  Patterned paper:  Kaisercraft (Silver Bells); Cardstock:  Bazzil; Letter Stickers:  American Craft (Emma); Chipboard circle:  Blue Fern Studios, Crate Paper (houses); Puffy house:  Crate Paper; Enamel dots:  My Minds Eye, Websters; Die cuts:  Kaisercraft (Silver Bells); Embroidery Floss: DMC Variegated; Embossing Powder: WOW (Metallic Silver); Stickels:  Christmas Red, Tickled Pink, Silver, Turquoise, Frosted Lace.

The case file:
This is how I solved the case:

The Scheme and Scene:  I was inspired by the scene and to use a wreath design and I used colours close to the scheme.

Product clues:  I found older papers that match the palette.  The older papers have a winter theme.  I used decorative borders below my photo.  I used stickles around my embellishments and I used stickles in Frosted Lace to add dots around my page.  The products I used have never been used before.

Design clues:  I created a wreath from things in my stash.  I added stitching around my page.  I updated the look of the die cut pieces by adding stickles to them.

Some close ups:
I added a border of stitching around my background paper.  The little houses from an older Crate Paper collection was also added because the scene contained little houses.

I added Stickles to my embellishments on my wreath

Some layered decorative borders below the photo.

I love the effect and texture that the enamel dots and stickles dots add to the page.

The alphabet stickers have also been sitting in my stash forever and it was used for the first time.

Here you can see the dimension and the glittery bits.

Thank you for visiting my blog today.  Come play along with CSI, you will be challenged and you will love it ♥♥

Celebrate Life - CSI #269 - Felicity Jane Willow

Hello my dear friends.  I just love getting back into the swing of things with my creative journey.  Today I am sharing a page that I made based on the Color Story Inspiration case file 269.  I combined some die cuts from the Maggie Holmes Carousel with the Felicity Jane Willow collection.  I used some photos taken during our camping vacation in December.

Supply list:  Patterned paper:  Felicity Jane Willow; Cardstock:  American Craft; Letter Stickers:  Hip Kit Exclusives; Flair:  Felicity Jane; Flat flair:  Felicity Jane; Puffy Hearts:  Elle's Studio; Enamel dots:  Nuvo Crystal Drops (Bright Gold); Die cuts:  Maggie Holmes Carousel, Felicity Jane Willow; Embroidery Floss:  DMC; Stitching template:  WeR Memory Keepers.

The case file:

I used the traditional clues:
The Scheme:  I used colours that closely match the scene.

Evidence:  Polka dots, floral pattern (background), chevron (stitching), stitching, hearts, camper (in the photo); multi-colored letters, decorative border.

Testimony:  I documented the celebration of life.  My journaling reads:  "Away is a place where it's not about the money you spend.  It's about the moments you share."

Some close ups:
I love how well these colours go together.

I love the beautiful Hip Kit exclusive alpha stickers.

I tucked some Willow border die cuts behind the photos...and added the chevron stitching.

The layout would not be complete without the story.

Some more stitching as final touches.

The beautiful Elle's Studio puffy stickers and the Nuvo crystal drops just adds the perfect little touches.

Another little cluster of embellishing.

Gather Together - CSI270 - Maggie Holmes Gather

Hallo my crafty friends.  Happy, happy New Year.  I do hope that you will have a fabulous 2019.  I h
ave been away on vacation and have not been into my studio until today.  I always need a lot of inspiration to get started after such a long break.  The latest January CSI challenges are just the thing to get started again.  Here is my take on the CSI case file 270.  I used a photo of us taken on Christmas day at our favourite restaurant near Plettenberg Bay.

Supply list:  Patterned paper:  Maggie Holmes (Gather), Dear Lizzy (Saturday), Simple Stories (Posh); Cardstock:  American Craft; Chipboard:  Maggie Holmes (Gather), Simple Stories (Posh); Pink Fresh (Indigo Hills); Brads:  Simple Stories; Die Cuts:  Maggie Holmes (Transparencies); WeR Memory Keepers (Honey I'm Home); Enamel dots: Nuvo Crystal Drops; Twine: Coats; Other: Sewing Machine.

The case file:

I used the traditional clues:
The Scheme:  I tried to use colours that are close to the scheme.

Evidence:  Woodgrain, frames, plants/succulents, flowers, ampersand, something transparent, texture (sewing machine stitching).

Testimony:  I used the inspiration words: gather and together as my title.

The Page Map sketch I used:

Some close ups:
The chipboard title was just perfect for this page.

I created a grid with 2,5x2,5 inch squares and then added machine stitching for extra texture.  I also added transparency die cuts to two clusters.

Some tags made with patterned paper and I added some potted succulents as embellishing.

Circle frames were cut in half and added in three spots around the photo.  I finished the page by adding some brads and a few Nuvo Crystal drops.

Come and play along with these fabulous challenges.  You are challenged to think out the box and to use your stash.  Thank you for visiting my blog today ♥♥
