Ahoy Boy - Lady Pattern Paper

I was very excited when I saw the new Ahoy Boy paper collection because I knew that I had the perfect photos to compliment this collection. In March my grandson, Stefan had a “Pirate Party” for his 6th birthday. The Pirate Party turned into a pool party in minutes as the pirates stripped and jumped into the pool.
I have not created a double page spread in ages and it proved to be quite a challenge. I used the gorgeous Ahoy Boy – Loot paper and trimmed it into a frame that would frame my double page. I distressed the edges and adhered it to Lady Pattern Paper Plain Kraft paper. I then added some hand stitching to the frame. I cut a 10-inch diameter circle from Ahoy Boy – Merboys (scales side) and two smaller 4-inch diameter circles from the Ahoy Boy – Starward papers.

I then cut the Ahoy Boy – Merboys (a side) to 6 inches to place behind the large circle and my photos. I cut 1-inch strips from the Ahoy Boy – Aye Aye (stripes side) and punched borders from the Ahoy Boy – Starward (dark blue side) paper. I arranged my patterned papers and photos the way I wanted them and then fussy cut elements from the various papers to use as embellishment on my page. I brought some red into the layout to pick up on the photos with brads, enamel dots and embellishments from my stash. Lastly, I added my hand stitching to the circles.

I love how the Ahoy Boy layout turned out and I might just do a few double pages again in future.

  1. OH WOW!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! What a fun page. Love all the elements and the fun photos.

I love that you did a double page ... When I see a page of yours that I just can't help but copy I mostly make them into a double layout.
