This is my piece of Paradise - Penelope Dee (Paradise)

Hi my crafty friends.  I have really had so much fun playing with the Penelope Dee (Paradise) collection.  The photos of our recent vacation in Plettenberg Bay is just perfect for this beautiful collection.
Supply list:  Patterned paper:  Penelope Dee (Paradise); Cardstock:  American Craft; Chipboard:  Penelope Dee; Flowers: Prima; Ink:  Distress Ink: Walnut Stain, Stormy Sky, Worn Lipstick; Stencil:  Penelope Dee; Versafine Clair (Blue Belle); Stamps:  Penelope Dee; Embossing Powder: Tsukineko Sparkle; Border punch: XCut; Die: Uniquely creative.

Some close ups:
I stenciled the starfish onto my white cardstock to break the white background.

I made additional coral and seaweed embellishments by stamping the images on patterned paper or colouring it with distress ink.  I wanted to use a lot of flowers on this page and the Prima Santorini flowers were the perfect match.

I layered the flowers with some stamped images, chipboard, fussy cut elements and some sisal.

I love these flowers...I added some stamped bubbles with the Penelope Dee stamp.

I found the perfect quote to complete this page.  You know that I absolutely adore the beach.

Such a beautiful soft colour palette.

Be sure to get yourself this collection at your local scrapbook store before it is all sold out.♥♥

Ocean Waves - Lady Pattern Paper - Scrapbook Studio Retreat

Hello my crafty friends.  Today I am sharing another page that I created an taught at the Scrapbook Studio Retreat.  I again used only local Scrapbook manufacturers.  The papers are all by Lady Pattern Paper and the flowers and chipboard is also local.  Local is indeed "lekker".

Supply list:  Patterned papers:  Lady Pattern Paper; Cardstock:  American Craft;  Chipboard embellishments:  Room 5; Chipboard title:  Celebr8; Bling & Pearls: Prima; Ribbon and Twine twist:  from my stash; embroidery floss: DMC; Ink:  Distress Ink (Faded Jeans); Embossing Powder: Tsukineko; Other Mediums:  Finnabair light paste, Finnabair art stones; Other:  shells from my stash.

I cut a frame from my background paper and distressed it with a distress tool and then inked it.  I then stuck it down on white cardstock.

I pierced the holes for stitching and left the stitching for last.

I heat embossed all the chipboard pieces with gold embossing powder. I dug into my ribbon stash and selected some of it to twist into a border for below my photo.  I attached it with red high tack and a few tiny attached paper clips.

The chipboard doily was cut in half to be used between the layers.

I added some shells around my page using heavy body gel.

The page was completed by adding a sprinkling of art stones, bling and pearls.

I love all the gold bits and the texture.

Thank you for visiting my blog today.  As you can see our South African companies are right up there with the internationals.  Be sure to get your Lady Pattern Paper basics from your local scrapbook store.  ♥♥

Sea sand Sun - Penelope Dee (Paradise)

Hi there my crafty friends.  I am so happy that Glenda Viljoen sent me her newest Penelope Dee Paradise collection.  I must be honest when I say that our local Scrapbooking companies do not have to take a back seat to the international manufacturers.  The products are excellent quality and absolutely gorgeous.  You all know that I have a love affair with the beach...it is and will always be the place where I am at my happiest.  So without further ado....here is my first page with this beautiful collection:

Supply list:  Patterned paper:  Penelope Dee (Paradise); Cardstock:  American Craft; Chipboard:  Penelope Dee; Die cuts:  Penelope Dee; Embroidery Floss:  DMC; Ink:  Distress Ink (Stormy Sky, Dusty Concord, Worn Lipstick); Lindy's Magicals (Alpine Ice Rose, Afternoon Delight Denim); Stencil:  Penelope Dee; Other Mediums:  Finnabair Light paste; Embossing Powder: Wow (Bright White); Glitter:  Martha Stewart, 13Arts Iridescent white glitter, Finnabair art stones and mini artstones, Other:  Silhouette Cameo (Seaweed).

I did a lot of fussy cutting for this page and layered some Silhouette seaweed cut files inbetween as well as some chipboard.  The seahorse and the chipboard coral was coloured with Lindy's Magicals...love the shimmer.

I adore this starfish stencil.  I mixed Finnabair light paste with some Iridescent Glitter before applying it through the stencil.

A lot of fussy cut elements layered over Silhouette seaweed die cuts and a sprinkling of art stones and seashells....pure perfection.
I really adore this collection and believe that you will be seeing a number of layouts with photos of our recent vacation in Plettenberg Bay.

Good Times - Art from the Heart - Scrapbook Studio Retreat

Hallo my crafty friends.  Last week I taught at the Scrapbook Studio Retreat in Jeffreys Bay.  To fit the theme of the Retreat I wanted to share beach layouts.  I also wanted to use proudly South African products.  This page was made using the gorgeous Art from the Heart Harmony collection.   Here is my page:
Supply list:  Patterned paper:  Art from the Heart (Harmony);  Cardstock:  American Craft; Chipboard:  Scrap Collections; Bling: Prima; Beads:  Scrapbook Studio; Flowers:  Celebr8; Strings of pearls:  AJ Floral; Twine:  Stash; Embroidery Floss:  DMC; Stencil:  The Crafters Workship:  Ink:  Distress Ink (Antique Linen); border punch:  EK Success.

I first applied distress ink through a stencil to break the white background.

This is a very simple layout and should not take longer than 2 hours to assemble.

I love to add stitching for added texture.

I twisted three strands of twine and two strands of pearls together and attached it with my Tiny attacher.

The flowers by Celebr8 is my all time favourite flower.

A few beads that resembles little shells and some crystals were added to complete the page.

I love the texture on this page.

Thank you for visiting my blog today.  You will find this paper collection at your local scrapbook store and you are most welcome to copy my page ♥♥

Fabulous Times Together - Lady Pattern Paper - Sketchabilities

Hi my crafty friends.  This single page layout is based on a sketch for Sketchabilities. It was also a layout that I made Lady Pattern Paper's latest So Buff collection.  I wanted to use a lot of layers behind my photo as the sketch called for this, and these papers were a perfect match!

Supply list:  Patterned paper:  Lady Pattern Paper; Cardstock:  American Craft; Chipboard title:  Celebr8; Flowers:  Celebr8,  Prima; Enamel dots:  Nuvo Crystal Drops (Honey Gold); Twine: WeR Memory Keepers; Embroidery Floss:  DMC; Ink:  Faded Jeans, Walnut Stain; Embossing Powder:  Lindy's Gang (Midnight Teal); Die: Bosscut;  Punch: WeR Memory Keepers Reinforcer Punch.

Karan's sketch:

From the So Buff Version 2 Paper Pack, I chose the Twinkle Toes Baby Hearts So Buff paper for my background and trimmed it down to frame it with the Lucy Lace Dazzling Blue Paper(B side).

I then took off cuts from Basic Essentials Script Dazzling Blue as well as Candy Stripe So Buff, Flirty Flutterbug So Buff, Rambling Rose So Buff, Dainty Damask (all Basic Essentials So Buff colours) and for the blue layers, I used the hello CARDS V2 Dazzling Blue.
For the finishing touches, I added tons of flowers, the title and a few Nuvo Crystal Drops. The stitching around the page adds further texture.

The So Buff layout is very simple and the layering of these basic patterned papers behind the photo is extremely effective.

Be sure to get your Lady Pattern Paper at your local scrapbook store and we would love it if you played along with the Sketchabilities sketch challenge. ♥♥

Happy 5 - Teresa Collins (Urban Market) - Stash busting #2

Hello there crafty friends.  I am sharing another stash busting page.  I adored the Teresa Collins collections and I bought them ALL.  The result is that I have a huge stash of this pretty papers and it needs to find a home.  Today I am scrapping a page of photos taken with my youngest grandson, Juan, on his 5th birthday.  Here is the page:

Supply list:  Patterned papers:  Teresa Collins (Urban Market); Cardstock:  American Craft; Wood Veneer: Teresa Collins, Flagstick:  Dear Lizzy; Bling: Crystal stickers; Enamel shapes: Teresa Collins; Die cuts/stickers: Teresa Collins; Embroidery Floss: DMC; Ink:  Distress Ink (Scattered Straw); Stencil: Crafters Workshop; Stamp: Prima; Dies: Quickutz; Compass: Silhouette Studio.

Here is the sketch that I used from Pagemaps:

Some close ups:
I used a patterned paper as a background...something I seldom do...and I stenciled and stamped on it to create some texture  I also ruffled up the edges of my layers...something I don't normally do.

I cut the compass with my Silhouette Cameo.

The "Happy" was fussy cut from a cut apart sheet and the wood veneer were all heat embossed.

 ....stitching to finish the look.

The ruffling of the layers creates amazing dimension.

Thank you for visiting my blog today.  I hope you are inspired to dig into your older neglected stash and play with it.  I feel so much better knowing that I am not just letting it gather dust.♥♥

Love this Life - Secret Scrapbook Event 2018

Hello there Crafty friends.  I am sharing the bonus page for my class at the Secret Scrapbook Event.  I usually do a feminine and a masculine page.  So this year the bonus page is the masculine page.

Some close ups:
I cut the woodgrain paper into planks and distressed and inked them before adding them to kraft paper in a staggered way.  I love adding corrugated board to my pages...it gives it so much texture.

I used brads to nail the planks to the background.  I then applied some texture paste through a stencil.  The gears were foiled using the Couture Creation Go Press and Foil machine.

I build my paper stack using some of the papers from the collection and adding the gears between the layers.

When the texture paste was dry the photo stack was added to the center of the page.

I used the 'LOVE" word from the sticker sheet and added this life cut from one of the cards on the cut apart sheet.

The white texture paste makes the title pop on the page.
