Scraplifting and stash busting - Stash busting #1

Hi my crafty friends.  I have been feeling very guilty when I look at my stash and have made a decision.  I have over the years frequently gone through a destashing phase and then blessed somebody with my less loved products.  Now I am at a stage where I LOVE everything that I still have in my stash...but it is just growing and I need to get it on pages.

I have also been asked how I feel about scraplifting.  Well...my feeling is if you DON'T want your pages copied...DON'T post it on social media, DON'T make kits and DON'T give classes. I am thrilled when my pages are lifted or copied.  I love to know that people are inspired by pages I do and it is a huge compliment when it is copied.  I also believe that we all learned to scrapbook through copying the work of our scrapbook idols.  I too, often love a page I see and then want to make a similar one.  Today I am sharing a page that was lifted from Cathyscrap85 .  A page done in December of 2014.  The style is totally unlike my normal style and I dug into my more shabby/vintage stash.  Here is my version:

Supply list:  Patterned papers:  Teresa Collins, Melissa Francis, Maya Design; Cardstock: American Craft;  Gold letter stickers:  Felicity Jane; Wood Veneer:  Prima, Studio Calico; Envelope: Maya Road; Bling: Prima Say it in Crystals; Flowers: Celebr8; Brads: Making Memories; Flair:  Celebr8; Metal Charms: Upikit; Ribbon: Prima; Twine: Stash; Embroidery Floss: DMC; Ink: Distress Oxide (Antique Linen); Stamps: Kaisercraft, Prima; Other:  Bookpages, ribbon, acrylic stars, Bingo card(printable)

Cathy's page: (much cleaner than mine)

Some close ups:
It feels as if I have everything but the kitchen sink on this page.  I love how the new Celebr8 flowers fit perfectly on this vintage feel page.

I love how the twine makes this layout look like a wrapped parcel.

The old Prima wood veneer that has been sitting in my stash for years have found a home.

I played with some of my old stamps that was also just sitting in my stash.

I just love the texture and all the layers.

I finished the page with my usual stitching.  I am thankful that people share their work and that we can get inspired to get out of our comfort zones....and use THAT STASH.  Thank you Cathy for the inspiration, but my page could never look as pretty as yours.♥♥

  5. I love that page ... I also copied it from the layout you are showing in your post!!!

I agree that if you don't want your pages copied then don't post them on-line. Once it is out in the universe it is fair game. I "copy" a lot of your pages and usually put my own little spin on it as I don't have all the same things in my stash that you do. Thank you for sharing your incredible talent with us!!!!

  6. Well I know that nearly everything I have learned about scrapbooking has come from others, from blogs, from youtube, from seeing new trends and techniques, so I guess I am a serial scraplifter of sorts!! Love both of these layouts, and I think you have put your touches on your page.. love the papers and so good to see embellishments find a home on a page.. I too am always trying to have papers go out of my stash before papers go in, and although I have really slowed down in my purchasing my stash seems unchanged!!! have a love weekend!

  7. A fabulous scrap lift and one with your own touches. Love the navy with the patterned border and it feels so good to use some older stash. I don't buy much these days, but still have a mountain of stock to play with. The black and white ribbon is a favourite of mine, you've inspired me to dig mine out!
