Relax & Exhale - Hip Kit July 2017 - CSI256

Hallo my crafty friends.  Last weekend I taught at The Event for Scrapbook Studio.  I will soon be sharing the pages I made for the class.  On Wednesday I took my usual creative day to play along with the latest Color Story Inspiration challenge.  For the colour part of the challenge I took out the July 2017 Hip Kit that had so many Hip Kit Exclusives.  I just love it when taking part in challenges allows me to use up some of my extensive stash.  The photo I used was taken in December 2016 when we camped at the Keurbooms Aventura with Wynand, Nadia and the boys.  Camping is the surest way to ensure that you really switch of and relax.  Here is my page:

Supply list:  Patterned papers:  Maggie Holmes, Paige Evans, Amy Tangerine, Illustrated Faith; Cardstock:  American Craft: Wood Veneer:  Hip Kit Exclusives; Chipboard:  Dusty Attic; Love Clip:  Illustrated Faith; Puffy Stickers:  Hip Kit Exclusives; Envelope: Maya Road; Enamel triangles: My Minds Eye; Ink:  Distress Ink (Weathered wood and Peacock Feathers); Punches:  XCut, Fiskars.

The page is roughly based on this Pagemaps sketch:

This is the CSI challenge inspiration:

This is how I solved this case file:

The Scheme:  I tried to stick as close as I could to the colour palette.

Evidence:  Solid white background, dots, triangles, circles, camper (photo), scallops, String(envelope), eye glasses.

Testimony:  I used the word "Relax" as my title and I journaled something about summer:  "Two weeks of bliss at the Keurbooms Aventura Resort.  Camping with Wynand, Nadia and the boys;  Loads of rest and relaxation."

Some close ups:
Some flowers cut from one of the Maggie Holmes papers, I coloured the flower wood veneer red to match the colour scheme of the case file.

Some string on the envelope and a colourful puffy scallop strip.

I added the puffy title directly to my photo and added a wood veneer cluster to the top of the photo.

The " WHY NOT?" was cut from an Amy Tangerine (On a Whim) paper and when I added the Exhale chipboard title to the page it made for a longer title.

The painted wood veneer was all part of the exclusives that usually come in the July Hip Kits.  I added some fussy cut flowers to this cluster as well as the black enamel triangles.

...finishing the page with my journaling and the date...

Thank you for visiting my blog today...I hope that I inspired you and that you will join in playing along with Color Story Inspiration. ♥♥
