Escape to the Wild - Maggie Holmes Flourish - Scrapbook Studio

Hi there,  I want to share the second page I made for the Scrapbook Studio kit.  I struggled to get going with this page because my paper options were limited.  I eventually decided on the front and back of the Flourish Poetic paper and my "go to"vertical design.  I then scoured my children's Facebook pages for a photo and when I found this one of Wynand and Nadia taken while they were camping in the Baviaans Kloof I knew that it would be perfect for the colour combination.

Supply list:  Patterned paper:  Maggie Holmes (Flourish); Cardstock: American Craft; Letter Stickers:  American Craft (Memo) and tile stickers from the Maggie Holmes sticker sheet; Chipboard:  Celebr8; Stickers:  Maggie Holmes (Flourish); Flowers: Celebr8; Embroidery Floss: DMC; Other Mediums:  Ranger Rose Gold Liquid Pearls; Scrapbook Studio Gold glitter embossing paste; Punch: XCut; Doily:  my stash.

Close ups:

I love how a doily always manage to soften a page. The butterfly was fussy cut from one of the papers.  I added a card from the cut apart sheet and then layered one of the sticker phrases over it.

I heat embossed the chipboard leaves and buds with rose gold embossing powder and added a fussy cut flower to the flower cluster.

The camera and dragon fly was fussy cut from the patterned papers.

The liquid pearls are not perfect...but it is what it is.  I added another phrase sticker to the photo.

The card was also cut from the cut apart patterned papers.  I love this colour combination....and as usual a bit of stitching as a final touch.

The Baviaans Kloof is really an Escape to the Wild where there is no cellphone reception....just perfect to relax and unwind.

Thank you for visiting my blog today♥♥

  3. So good to read that you sometimes struggle with the paper selection too Lynette. Although it's hard to imagine, as your pages always look perfect to me. This is just lovely. Was it the ancient Persians that said that they always built in a deliberate mistake to their craft because only God is perfect? It's my motto when I spy bloopers on my page! x
