Wonder - Lady Pattern Paper - CSI 244 & Stuck?!

Hallo there.  Today I am sharing my last layout for this year...and it is poignant because I used a photo of my older 3 grandchildren taken on Christmas Eve in 2011.  This was also the last Christmas of my dad's life and I am so glad he spent it surrounded by his great grandchildren.  I have combined the CSI 244 case file with the Stuck sketch and I am thrilled with how it turned out.

Supply list:  Patterned papers:  Lady Pattern Paper (Basic Essentials); Cardstock: American Craft;  Chipboard Title:  Blue Fern Studio; Chipboard Elements: Stash; Flowers: Maya Road; Enamel dots: Teresa Collins; Enamel stars: My Minds Eye;  Bulb: Prima; Embroidery Floss:  DMC; Other mediums: Finnabair 3D Matte Gel, Cariena's custom glitter; Stencil: Jamie Dougherty; Embossing Powder: WOW bright white.

Laura's sketch for Stuck:

Color Story Inspiration case file 244:
This is how I solved the case file:

The Scheme:  All 5 colours used.

Evidence:  Christmas, lamp, stencil, scallops, trees, felt ribbon flowers.

Testimony:  I documented Christmas Eve 2011.  My journaling reads:  "Gifts of time and love are surely the basic ingredients of a truly merry Christmas." - Peg Bracken.

Some close ups:
I first stenciled the three circles onto the background using Finnabair's 3D Matte Gel and then sprinkled some gold glitter over the wet gel.

I cut the tree to place behind my photo layers and stitched the tree with white embroidery floss and then outlined it with gold metallic embroidery floss.

The little cluster at the top right to balance the layout.  I heat embossed the chipboard tree.

I just adore how versatile the Lady Pattern Paper is and cut the scallop from one of the Basic Essential papers too.  The little Christmas bauble is also heat embossed.

Here you can see more of the handstitching and the journaling.

I really initially struggled with the embellishing until I remembered these old Maya Road ribbon flowers...they were just the perfect touch.

Here you can see the dimension and the shiny bits.

Thank you for visiting my blog.  I wish you and your loved ones a Blessed Christmas and a Prosperous 2018. ♥♥
