♥This place ♥ - April 2017 Hip Kit

Hi there.  I am playing along with one of the sketch challenges on the Hip Kit forum.  This week the sketch is by Laureen Wagner and the focus is on a large photo. At the same time I noticed that Paige Evans have just launched her latest collection...and it is beautiful.  She is having a give away if a layout using one of her collections are shared on her Facebook page.   I am embarrassed to tell you that I have many, many older photos that I haven't scrapped yet.  I ended up printing out an A4 photo taken at Hole-in-the-Wall on the Wild Coast in February 2015.  Here is my page.

Supply list:  Patterned paper:  Paige Evans (Oh my Heart), Cardstock:  American Craft; Puffy Letter Stickers:  Crate Paper (Oasis); Chipboard:  Paige Evans (Oh my Heart), Enamel dots: Hip Kit Exclusives; Puffy stickers:  Paige Evans (Oh my Heart); Embroidery Floss:  DMC Variegated; Other:  Silhouette Cameo and the Hibiscus cut file is also from the Silhouette Store.

Here is the sketch:

Some close ups:
I stitched around the edges of my photo...my serious addiction.  The flags was cut from the left over patterned paper that backs the cut file.  Love this paper ♥.  I then layered the chipboard "whole lotta lovely over it and added the rose gold sunglasses and the puffy scallop sticker.

I used this title from the Crate Paper Oasis collection.

My journaling was placed on the photo as there is a lot of space.

I have noticed a lot of tone on tone embellishing...so I tried my hand on it...where I didn't have a corresponding chipboard flower I used some of the blue ones.

A little chipboard bird added t the top of the flower.

I then carried on with the tone on tone embellishing with tiny puffy flowers, chipboard shapes and enamel dots.
I might just do my embellishing this way more often.  The cut file was popped up on foam squares...I like the shadow it creates under the hibiscus flowers.

Here you can see the rose gold and gold foiling better.

Thank you for visiting my blog today ♥♥

  5. A stunning page which really captures the serenity of the place. Lovely cut file and superb embellishing. No need to be embarrassed about older photos - hey I have a room full of them, but I just scrap whatever takes my fancy at the time. TFS
