Funny Faces - June 2017 Hip Kit

Hallo there. I am sharing a page that I created this past weekend.  The photos were taken on Wyn and's small holding in May when the family got together for Nadia's birthday.  The cousins always adore spending time together...and as usual they played the fool every time I tried to capture some photos of this stage will also be documented.  Here is my page:

Supply list:  Patterned paper:  Dear Lizzy (Happy Day), Paige Evans (Oh my Heart), Pink Fresh (Dream On), Hip Kit Exclusive (blue stripe- Jan 2016 kit); Cardstock: American Craft; Letter stickers:  Dear Lizzy Petals thickers; Chipboard:  Amy Tan (On a Whim); Project life cards (May and Sept 2016 exclusives); Paper Clip:  American Craft; Clear Stickers: Simple Stories; Buttons:  Hip Kit Exclusives, Shimelle (little by little); Enamel dots: Hip Kit Exclusives, Teresa Collins; Die Cuts: Vicky Boutin; Embroidery Floss: DMC; Border Punch: Martha Stewart; Stamps: Technique Tuesday.

The page was made using inspiration from the Hip Kit weekly sketch:

Some close ups:
I cut the scallops from a Paige Evans Oh my Heart paper and stitched around the circle before adding these awesome Thicker letters for my title.

A little cluster at the top left side of the layout.

The paper clip is from an older kit and the "extreme happiness" is from a July 2016 Project life card.

The "LOL" card was from a July 2016 PL card and the "Makes me Happy"was cut out of a September 2016 PL card.  I love how the different kits mix and match each other.

I like to take a photo on an angle so that the dimension can be seen.  I always double mat my photos and then pop them up with foam squares.

Thank you for visiting my blog today.  I hope that you leave inspired to create ♥♥

♥This place ♥ - April 2017 Hip Kit

Hi there.  I am playing along with one of the sketch challenges on the Hip Kit forum.  This week the sketch is by Laureen Wagner and the focus is on a large photo. At the same time I noticed that Paige Evans have just launched her latest collection...and it is beautiful.  She is having a give away if a layout using one of her collections are shared on her Facebook page.   I am embarrassed to tell you that I have many, many older photos that I haven't scrapped yet.  I ended up printing out an A4 photo taken at Hole-in-the-Wall on the Wild Coast in February 2015.  Here is my page.

Supply list:  Patterned paper:  Paige Evans (Oh my Heart), Cardstock:  American Craft; Puffy Letter Stickers:  Crate Paper (Oasis); Chipboard:  Paige Evans (Oh my Heart), Enamel dots: Hip Kit Exclusives; Puffy stickers:  Paige Evans (Oh my Heart); Embroidery Floss:  DMC Variegated; Other:  Silhouette Cameo and the Hibiscus cut file is also from the Silhouette Store.

Here is the sketch:

Some close ups:
I stitched around the edges of my serious addiction.  The flags was cut from the left over patterned paper that backs the cut file.  Love this paper ♥.  I then layered the chipboard "whole lotta lovely over it and added the rose gold sunglasses and the puffy scallop sticker.

I used this title from the Crate Paper Oasis collection.

My journaling was placed on the photo as there is a lot of space.

I have noticed a lot of tone on tone I tried my hand on it...where I didn't have a corresponding chipboard flower I used some of the blue ones.

A little chipboard bird added t the top of the flower.

I then carried on with the tone on tone embellishing with tiny puffy flowers, chipboard shapes and enamel dots.
I might just do my embellishing this way more often.  The cut file was popped up on foam squares...I like the shadow it creates under the hibiscus flowers.

Here you can see the rose gold and gold foiling better.

Thank you for visiting my blog today ♥♥

Captured Moment - June 2017 Hip Kit - Stuck sketches

Hallo there,  I am sharing a page I made this last weekend.  I am playing along with the Stuck 1 August sketch and using my June Hip Kit.  I just love to scrap those random moments that are unplanned.  We were visiting Nadia on their plot when Kobus captured this photo of Stefan and is such a sweet photo.

Supply list:  Patterned paper:  Dear Lizzy (Lovely day), Shimelle (Little by little);   Cardstock:  American Craft; Letter Stickers: black and white Dear Lizzy Petals, yellow:  Hip Kit Exclusive; Tag:  July 2016 PL card, Chipboard:  Amy Tan (On a Whim); Sequins: Cocoa Vanilla Studio; Buttons: Hip Kit Exclusive; Rubber charm: Crate Paper; Die cuts:  Pink Fresh Studio (dream on), Cocoa Vanilla Studio, Twine: WeR Memory Keepers; Embroidery Floss: DMC;  Ink:  Tim Holtz Distress Ink (Squeezed Lemonade); Stencil: Celebr8 (Matrix).

The sketch:
Some close ups:
There is no yellow in my patterned papers and because I wanted to bring it in on my title, I stenciled some yellow ink onto my white background paper to tie it all in.  The yellow heart die cut and dog rubber charm was used to bring yellow into the top cluster.

I adore this title.  I was inspired by one of Cara Vincens planner titles and enjoyed using the inspiration.  The wooden buttons are Hip Kit Exclusives and designed by the owner Kimberly Hutchinson.
The tag was a PL card from my July 2016 Hip kit that I cut down and punched a hole for some twine.  I love how the kits mix and match.

Here you can see the dimension that is created when using a foam square behind your photo.  I love the shadow it makes and at the same time is allows me to add the "Love this" chipboard circle behind my photo and the photo is still level.

Thank you for visiting my blog today...I hope you found something to inspire you to create.♥♥

Together - Paige Evans Oh my Heart - Scrapbook Studio

Hallo there,  here is the last of the three layouts I created for a mini kit for Scrapbook Studio.  I wanted to show that you can create boy pages even though the collection looks very feminine.  I used another of the gorgeous ombre patterned papers, a cut file and a photo of my grandsons Christian and Lukas.

Supply list:  Patterned papers;  Paige Evans Oh my Heart, Cardstock:  American Craft; Chipboard:  Celebr8;  Wood veneer:  Studio Calico stars; Die cuts;  Paige Evans Oh my Heart; Embroidery Floss:  DMC Variegated; Twine:  WeR Memory Keepers: Embossing Powder:  WOW (Rose Gold); Other:  Silhouette Cameo.

Some close ups:
I adore this cut file and have used it before.  I hand stitched around the large star and placed the embossed title into the star.

How cute is the little fox.  You can see that I used a floral patterned paper, among others for the layering behind the totally works even for a boy page.

I outlined all my patterned paper layers and popped the matted photo up on foam.

I love the rose gold accents in this collection.

So pretty when it reflects the light.

Thank you for visiting my blog today.  I hope you go and create ♥♥
