I love you - CSI 228 - Stuck Sketches

Hello there.  We returned from our usual April vacation in Plettenberg Bay last weekend.  This week I had to play catch up with the financial affairs at the Mission before I could do the month it has been a tad hectic.  This weekend all our men folk has gone to the Mighty Men Conference on a farm outside Middelburg, Eastern Cape.  So I have some scrappy time ahead of me and with all the lovely photos I have at my disposal I do believe that I am going to have a lot of fun.

I just completed my first layout for the weekend...and it is a combination of two current challenges.  I am playing along with the Color Story Inspiration Case file 228 and the Stuck 15 April 2017 sketch.  Here is the completed page:

Supply list:  Patterned papers:  Bo Bunny (Back to basics); Echo Park (Summer Party); Cardstock:  American Craft:  Wood Veneer: Teresa Collins, Cocoa Vanilla Studio; Chipboard:  Blue Fern Studio; Stickers: Cocoa Vanilla Studio; Brads:  Teresa Collins; Buttons: Crate Paper; Enamel dots: Teresa Collins; Heart Puffy Stickers: Freckled Fawn; Twine: WeR Memory Keepers; Ink: Tim Holts Distress Ink (Hickory Smoke); Border punch: Fiskars; Stencil: The Crafters Workshop; Other:  Silhouette Cameo for the title and rosettes.

Here is the Stuck Sketch:
You can see that I stuck pretty close to Laura's awesome sketch.

Here is the Color Story Inspiration case file:

Here is how I solved this case file:

The Scheme:   All 5 colours used.

Evidence:  Solid background, chevrons, arabesque shapes (the stenciling and the chipboard), silver metal (brads), puffy stickers (silver hearts).

Testimony:  I chose to scrap a photo of and journal about my darling husband.  I used a quote from The Notebook as my journaling.  It reads as follows:

“I love you.  I am who I am because of you.  You are every reason, every hope, and every dream I've ever had, and no matter what happens to us in the future, every day we are together is the greatest day of my life.  I will always be yours. ”  - The Notebook

Some close ups:
I just broke the white of the page and stenciled through a arabesque stencil with some Hickory Smoke Distress ink.  The elements used for this page is really a stash busting experience.

I love this quote...and I couldn't have said it any better.

I dressed the Blue Fern Studio chipboard with the same Hickory Smoke Distress Ink.  The rosettes were cut with the Silhouette Cameo.

I had to offset the title because it got lost on the page.  I stuck some foam dots under the bottom part of the page to get it all to the same level.

I loved the whole experience of searching for the perfect papers for the color scheme and then looking for the perfect embellishments in my stash.  Quite an exercise.  I hope you will be inspired to take part in the challenges over at Stuck Sketches and Color Story Inspiration.

Thank you for visiting my blog today.  Have a lovely weekend.♥♥

Lovely - March Hip Kit

Hallo there.  Today I would like to share another page I made with the March kit.  I simply adore the new Maggie Holmes Chasing Dreams butterfly patterned paper and I know that both the pages I got in my kit will  be fussy cut and the butterflies are going to make their appearance on a lot of different pages.  The photo was taken with a recent grandchildren/grandparents photo shoot and I love this photo of me with my one and only granddaughter.

Supply list:  Patterned papers:  Paige Evans Oh my Heart, Dear Lizzy, Maggie Holmes Chasing Dreams; Cardstock:  American Crafts; Chipboard:  Maggie Holmes; Fringed butterfly:  Maggie Holmes; Flowers;  Prima; Embroidery Floss:  DMC Variegated; Ink:  Tim Holtz Distress Ink; Cut File: Just Nick; Other:  Silhouette Cameo.

Some close ups:
I never get enough of hand stitching.  I just love the texture it adds to the cut file.  I used a Just Nick cut file and cut it in two different sizes on the pink ombre Paige Evans Oh my heart paper.

I combined the chipboard floral with some Prima flowers from my stash.  The hearts are also from the Chasing Dreams chipboard and have rose gold foiling.

I inked the butterflies with black Tim Holtz Distress Ink to give it more definition.

Happy - Celebr8

Hallo there.  Kobus and I recently had a photo shoot with all our grandchildren. The photographer is well known for being able to capture the mood in her photo really captured the relationship between and my love perfectly.  I wanted to scrap it as soon as possible and it really came together very quickly.  Here it is:

Supply list:  Patterned papers:  Celebr8 (Glamour collection); Cardstock:  American Craft; Chipboard:  Celebr8; Metal feather charms:  Celebr8; Flowers:  Prima:  Sequins: Celebr8; Ribbon and twine: Celebr8; Butterflies: Maggie Holmes (Chasing Dreams); Ink:  Tim Holtz Distress Ink (dusty concord, faded jeans, salty ocean); Stencil: Celebr8 (Glamour);  Stickles (Sea Glass)

I saw the quote on Valerie Thorpe's FB page and I knew that I wanted to use it on a page...this photo with all our twinkle wrinkles on show was just perfect for it.

What if you’re wrinkles were signs of you feeling...                                                           feeling life and not running away.
Signs of your bravery, of you continuing no matter what.
Celebrate the ways in which you wear your story upon you.
Those times you laughed so hard,
they are written on your cheeks forever.
It’s beautiful.  You’re beautiful and your eyes
have beauty dancing within them always.

                                                              Some close ups:

I added a very thick layer of glossy accents and then scattered the sequins into the glossy accents.

I dressed the chipboard with ink and then Sea Glass Stickles.

I used the "Glamour" stencil and Tim Holtz Distress Inks in Dusty Concord, Faded Jeans and Salty Ocean.  I adore this quote.

I had some of this fussy cut butterflies on my desk and the colours were a perfect match.

Another little butterfly and a heart glittered with Stickles.

Dreams are for the chasing - February Hip Kit - Stuck sketches

Hallo there.  I cut into my February Hip Kit today.  I adore the Maggie Holmes "Chasing Dreams" collection.  I am also playing along with the 1st April Stuck sketch challenge.
We had a photo shoot with our beautiful grandchildren in February and I am enjoying scrapping the pretty photos.  Here is my layout.

Supply list:  Patterned papers:  Maggie Holmes (Chasing Dreams); Cardstock: American Craft; Stickers; Maggie Holmes (Chasing Dreams);  Die Cuts: Maggie Holmes (Chasing Dreams) ephemera; Chipboard:  Maggie Holmes (Chasing Dreams); Embroidery Floss:  DMC Variegated; Border punch: Fiskars; Other:  Silhouette Cameo sketch pen.

The sketch:

Close ups:
The cut file is from the Silhouette Studio and I used a sketch pen to trace the lines for the stitching. Needless to say...this took a while....

I used this "dreams are for chasing" from the sticker sheet as the title.  Lots of fussy cut butterflies.

The little gold hearts are also from the sticker sheet.  I cut the banners from the bottom of the tag I used and from another die cut piece.

I cut the tag in half as most of it is hidden behind the photo.

My journaling...a page is just not complete without it.

Together - December Hip Kit - Scrapbook Studio sketch

Hi there....I actually created a 2pager for a change.  I wanted to document our visit to Bramon Wine Estate in December and a single page just doesn't cut it for events.  I used Cariena's sketch as inspiration to use some of the embossing folders and the stamps that is sitting in my stash.  Here is the page I made:

Supply list:  Patterned papers:  Hip Kit Exclusives, Paige Evans, Echo Park, Maggie Holmes; Cardstock:  American Craft; Chipboard title:  Celebr8; Flowers: Prima;  Brads: Teresa Collins; Clear Stickers:  Pink Paislee Memorandum; Die Cuts: Paige Evans; Embroidery Floss:  DMC; Ink: Versafine (Smokey Grey),  Distress Ink (Hickory Smoke); Ranger Stickels (Gunsmoke); Stamps:  Bubbles - Scrapbook Studio; Circles:  Prima Finnabair; Border punch: Martha Stewart; Embossing Folders:  Couture Creations, Kaisercraft.

Cariena's Sketch:

Some close ups:
 Love all the circle elements.

I first inked my title then covered it with stickles.  Instead of enamel dots I also used the stickles.

I love the texture of the embossed circles.

How pretty is those music notes...that is an embossing folder by Couture Creations.  I couldn't resist stitching around the circles.

Some more circles and some more stitching.

Pretty banners and a few clear stickers.

To go along with the circle theme I stamped bubbles at the top of the background.  That is a stamp that we received at a Scrapbook Studio event.
