Boys will be Boys - December Hip Kit - Stuck sketches

Hi there, I hope it is going well in your neck of the woods.  Yesterday I cut into my December Hip Kit to take part in the 15 January Stuck sketch challenge.  I scrapped two photos that I took of my grandsons Christian and Lukas when we went for lunch at Bramon wine estate in December.  Here is my page.

Supply list:  Patterned papers:  Dec Hip Kit exclusives, Paige Evans; Cardstock: American Craft; Letter Stickers: American Craft (Charming) Black, Turquoise - Pink Fresh Studio; Wood veneer: Hip Kit exclusive arrow, Jillibean Soup (Smile); Tassels: Maggie Holmes; Acrylic Stars: Hip Kit Exclusives; Enamel dots: My Minds Eye (Sugar Plum); Tag: Paige Evans; Stencil: Heidi Swapp; Mist: Prima Color Bloom (Storm Cloud); Dies: Quickcutz stars

The sketch:

I love to outline my patterned papers to create separation between the layers.  Love those little tassels.

I love white background paper but because the embellishing of this page is minimal I decided to mist some light grey stars onto the background.  I also stitched around my circle :-)

Those cute little acrylic stars are exclusive to the Hip Kits and I would love to lay my hands on more of them.

The sketch called for the long title and the photos show that "boys will be boys".

The "Smile" wood veneer is from an older Hip Kit.

Thank you for visiting my blog today...your love is appreciated and I hope that you found some inspiration on my little place in cyber space.

Adventure - August Hip Kit

Hi there.  The page I am sharing today was the first one I scrapped with the August kit.  I have found it notoriously difficult to cut into a brand new kit.  Until I cut that first piece of paper I just don't know where to start with all the pretty goodies that is contained in each kit.  So after much humming and hawing this was the best I could come up with.  Seriously the first page is always super difficult.

Supply list:  Patterned papers: Crate Paper; Dear Lizzy, Amy Tangerine; Cardstock: American Craft; Wood Veneer: Jillibean Soup; Chipboard Title: Celebr8;  Flair: Adri du Preez; Enamel dots: My Minds Eye; Enamel hearts: Illustrated Faith; Die cuts: Hip Kit Exclusives; Twine: WeR Memory Keepers: Dies: Quickutz nesting dies; Other: Doily from my stash.

The sketch I used:

Some close ups:
I matted my patterned papers on dark grey cardstock.

The title is a Celebr8 chipboard that I just inked in dark blue.

I love this delicate doily...and I ordered a stash of it from Amazon.

Fabulous - September Hip Kit

Hi there.  It would seem that this little blog of mine is just becoming a place where I post my creative work.  I am sorry about that.  Unfortunately due to our lives becoming very public due to our work at the Mission, I need to batten down the hatches to keep our private lives private.  Those of my friends that have formed bonds with me over the years know that I am still available for chats on Messenger and through e-mail.   Today I am sharing a page I made of my Love and I.  We attended a red carpet event late last year and looked so smart that the photo just had to be scrapped.

Supply list:  Patterned papers:  Maggie Holmes Gather; Cardstock: American Craft; Title Font: Bromello; Chipboard:  Blue Fern Studios, Glitter heart: Maggie Holmes; Flower: Prima; Woodie: Maggie Holmes; Enamel flower: Maggie Holmes; Enamel dots: Simple Stories; Die Cuts; Maggie Holmes; Embroidery Flos: DMC Variegated and gold metalic; Mist: Prima Color Bloom (Cobalt), Other Mediums: Glossy Acents, Finnabair Gold glitter, PanPastels, Tsukineko embossing powder; Other: Doily from my stash.

Some close ups:
I love this colour combination with the soft pinks and the bold cobalt blue.  I outlined all my patterned papers to create separation.  I outlined the pink ticket with glossy accents and then sprinkled gold glitter over it.

I love the softness the intricate doily gives the page...I also outlined the leaves of the diecut flower with glossy accents and added gold glitter.

I coloured a neutral flower with Cobalt Color Bloom Mist to pick up on the dress I wore.  The Blue Fern Studio Chipboard boarder was heat embossed with gold.

The title is where it all started.  It took me most of an afternoon to stitch my title.  I used a sketch pen and the Silhouette to draw out the title and then pierced holes for the stitching.

This page needed the little cluster in the top corner and I like how effective and simple it is.

Mischief - September Hip Kit

I am sharing another page made with the September Hip Kit.  I used some photos of Stefan and Bella taken when she was just a puppy.  They are really best friends and get up to all kinds of Mischief.  Here is my page:

Supply list:  Patterned papers: Maggie Holmes (Gather), Simple Stories (Posh); Cardstock: American Craft; Letter Stickers: Pink Fresh (Indigo Hills); Chipboard Glitter Frame: Heidi Swapp; Chipboard: American Craft, Maggie Holmes; Enamel Dots; Simple Stories; Die Cuts: Crate Paper, Simple stories; Bow: Maggie Holmes; Embroidery floss: DMC; Ink: Tim Holtz Distress Ink (Antique Linen); Stencil: Prima; Dies: Memory Box.

The Laura Whitaker sketch:

Some close ups:
I just love playing with a lot of paper layers behind my photos.  the cute little birdies are die cuts from the Simple Stories (Posh) collection's ephemera pack.

The cute little dog was just perfect for this page.

I added the dandelion die cut to echo the dandelion in the bottom cluster.

I love using white cardstock and altering it slightly with some stencils and inks.  Here I used a Prima crackle stencil and some Tim Holtz Distress Ink.

Thank you for visiting my little place in cyber space today.  I hope you found some inspiration here ♥♥

Heartfelt - July Hip Kit

We have come back to reality after our lovely vacation.  This has been a busy week but I still found time to create.  Today I am playing along with the latest Stuck Sketch challenge.  By now you know that I am a big fan of Laura's sketches.  This page celebrates the preciousness of friendship.

My take on the sketch:
Supply list:  Patterned papers:  July Hip Kit exclusives; Cardstock:  American Craft; Wood Veneer:  Pink Paislee, Studio Calico; Chipboard: Celebr8, Project Life; Flowers; Prima; Enamel hearts: Illustrated Faith; Die cuts: Hip Kit Exclusives; Paper Clip:  American Craft; Embroidery Floss: DMC Variegated; Mist: Prima Color Bloom (Gold Foil); Embossing Paste: Wendy Vecchi, Acrylic paint; Embossing Powder: Tsukineko; Doily from my stash.

The Sketch:

Some close ups:
The bottom cluster.  I applied embossing paste thickly and unevenly to the chipboard hearts and the chipboard lace and allowed it to dry before embossing them with gold.

I coloured some of the embossing paste with light yellow acrylic paint and applied it through a stencil randomly all over the page for extra texture.  I bought a large stash of these delicate doilies from them.

To get the uneven effect on the large heart under the photo and the top one....I applied embossing paste thickly and unevenly...I love the bumpy look.

Thank you so much for visiting my little blog today.  I hope that you found something that inspired you to create. ♥♥

Puppy Love - August Hip Kit

Hallo there and a very Blessed 2017 to each of you.

Bella became part of our family in July while I was away for a scrapbook event.  Let's just say that I am way over having a puppy to care for.  She is a very beautiful Basset hound but sadly she isn't too bright and even after these months we are still struggling to get her house trained.  I am sure she has her indoors and outdoors mixed up and I don't love puddles on my carpets. is some of the first photos taken of her and Stefan.

Supply list:  Patterned paper:  Dear Lizzy, Crate Paper, Amy Tangerine; Cardstock: American Craft; Letter stickers: Making Memory Tiny Alphas; Wood Veneer: Lawn Fawn, Pink Paislee; Crate; Rubber Heart charm: Dear Lizzy; Clear Stickers: Amy Tangeringe: Twine; WeR Memory Keepers; Other:  Silhouette Cameo.

I used this page map...and scrapping at an angle takes me way out of my comfort zone:

  Some close ups:
I added some clear stickers to various parts of the page to create interest.

I tried to make the title more interesting by cutting a basset silhouette with the Silhouette Cameo and adding the tiny letter stickers to it...and then adding the wood veneer "love" to another Pink Paislee wood veneer piece to make up the Title Puppy Love.

I added the red heart rubber charm as it goes with Stefan's pajama top.

Another little silhouette cut with the Silhouette Cameo.

All in all it was a very simple page with no mixed media and no stitching.  Thank you for visiting my page today ♥♥
