Fabulous - Stuck?!

Hi my friends.  I have taken time out today...I needed a break from the ordinary as well as from the auditors.  Yikes...they can keep one busy!!  I wanted to scrap photos that I recently took of my daughter with her peacock hair...and I decided to combine it with the Stuck?! sketch for September.  Here is my take on the sketch.

Supplies used:  Cardstock:  American Craft; Patterned papers:  My Minds Eye (Lost and Found Record It); Graduated Circle:  Blue Fern Studios; Flowers: Prima, Bo Bunny; Brads: My Minds Eye; Dragonfly: K&Co; Title and leaves: Silhouette Studio; Other; Texture Paste, acrylic paint and Prima stencil.

The Stuck?! sketch:

Some close-ups:
I decided that I wanted a very neutral line of papers for these bright and happy photos.  The My Minds Eye Lost and Found Record It line was just perfect with it's blacks, greys, silver and kraft colours.  I used a Prima stencil and mixed texture paste with purple and turquoise paint and applied it to my background paper.
What I love is that the stenciling doesn't have to be perfect...if it is a bit messy it is just fine.

I cut one of the Blue Fern Studio graduated circles in two to attach on either side of the paper strips.  I painted the chipboard with Ranger Pearl Dabber.

A final touch of a little dragonfly and it was done.

Thank you for visiting...I love your comments.

xoxo

  13. Hi Lynette, hope you are well. I am always in awe of women who can dye their hair as I have never dyed mine in my life!! Just can't bring myself to even cover the grey let alone be that drastic! You are right to leave a neutral background as the photo's really do stand out and say look at me and the flowers are the perfect touch. Hope you get time to play again soon. xx

  21. This is beautiful & I Love Bianca's hair!! Don't worry about being a slow scrapper - I am very slow. I just have a high tolerance for keeping going when I am on a roll - my little 3 layout/1 art journal page took me 7 hours!

  23. I would need a break from auditors too--ugh!

The stenciling on the background makes it look like stone with cracks or veining--a very cool effect. The bright photos really pop against the neutral papers.

  27. Wow, that background just makes the photo sing. Wonderful page. As an ex-auditor, I'm sure they want to be out of your hair just as quickly as you want them out of yours. I remember liking the small and/or quick audits the best.
