Perfect - CSI 139

Hallo there. Just a quick catch up.  I am into my third week of the audit and have just about had enough already...fortunately there is only three more days until we leave for a two week vacation in Plettenberg Bay. I am counting the days!!!

I will try to write a decent blog post soon...until then it will be only Scrapbook blogging found in this space.    I am playing along with this week's  Color Story Inspiration (CSI) case file 139.  I love this week's colour combination and the lovely sketch by Em Stafrace.  Here is my page:

Supplies used:  Cardstock: American Craft; Patterned papers: Jillibean Soup; Flowers: Petaloo; Enamel dots: My Minds Eye; Brads: My Minds Eye; Other:  PanPastels in Hansa Yellow, Bright yellow green shade and turquoise, Rosette and Title:  Silhouette Cameo.

The case file:

This is how I solved the case:

The Scheme: All there

Evidence: Stripes, flowers, PanPastels, butterflies, mini brads, two butterflies...two grandchildren, triangles.

Testimony: I used the title "Perfect" and added a quote in the form of a couplet

Some close ups:
I used a Stencil Art triangles stencil and applied PanPastels through it in the form of the triangle.  I then added my thin slices of patterned triangles.

I love the way the black pops on the page and decided to block the patterned paper pennants with black cardstock.

The butterflies were attached with mini brads.

Thank you for the visit...I hope to be around to your blogs soon.

Fabulous - Stuck?!

Hi my friends.  I have taken time out today...I needed a break from the ordinary as well as from the auditors.  Yikes...they can keep one busy!!  I wanted to scrap photos that I recently took of my daughter with her peacock hair...and I decided to combine it with the Stuck?! sketch for September.  Here is my take on the sketch.

Supplies used:  Cardstock:  American Craft; Patterned papers:  My Minds Eye (Lost and Found Record It); Graduated Circle:  Blue Fern Studios; Flowers: Prima, Bo Bunny; Brads: My Minds Eye; Dragonfly: K&Co; Title and leaves: Silhouette Studio; Other; Texture Paste, acrylic paint and Prima stencil.

The Stuck?! sketch:

Some close-ups:
I decided that I wanted a very neutral line of papers for these bright and happy photos.  The My Minds Eye Lost and Found Record It line was just perfect with it's blacks, greys, silver and kraft colours.  I used a Prima stencil and mixed texture paste with purple and turquoise paint and applied it to my background paper.
What I love is that the stenciling doesn't have to be perfect...if it is a bit messy it is just fine.

I cut one of the Blue Fern Studio graduated circles in two to attach on either side of the paper strips.  I painted the chipboard with Ranger Pearl Dabber.

A final touch of a little dragonfly and it was done.

Thank you for visiting...I love your comments.

Love♥story - CSI 138

Hallo there.  Another week....another blog post.  It would appear that I am becoming a slow blogger as well as a slow scrapper :-P   I am playing along with this week's  Color Story Inspiration (CSI) case file 138.  For this page I am using a photo of my oldest son, Kobus and his wife Lache, taken on a recent family photo shoot.  Here is my page:
Supply list:  Cardstock: SEI Moravia; Patterned papers:  Teresa Collins (Summer Stories); Simple Stories; Flowers: Prima; Brads: Teresa Collins (Summer Stories); Rub on stitches: Die Cuts with a view;  Wooden hearts: Studio Calico; Title and heart cluster: Silhouette Cameo; Mist: Lindy's Stamp Gang; Stencil: Crafters Workshop; Stamps: Prima.

Here is this weeks Case File:
This is how I solved the case:

The Scheme:  All 5 colours used.

Evidence:  Damask patterned paper, tags, paint.

Testimony:  I wrote a letter on the pull out tag behind the understand the letter I need to sketch a bit of background.  Kobus and Lache married in 2006 and after two babies they divorced in 2010.  It was heartbreaking at the time and we were so happy for them when they reconciled and remarried in 2011. My letter:  "Dear children,  We are so happy that you found each other and that you decided to commit your lives to one another.  We pray that you will grow closer together as each year passes and that your faith in the Lord will be the golden thread that ties you together.  We love you so much and are so thankful that you blessed us with three beautiful grandchildren. xxx

I used this awesome Sketchabilities 122 sketch and will be playing along with their challenge too:

Some close ups:
I sprayed some Lindy's Stamp Gang "Time Travel Teal" through the "Tiles" Crafters Workshop stencil over the background paper.  I cut the heart clusters with the Silhouette Cameo and backed some of  the hearts with patterned papers.

I used 5 layers behind my photo and the journaling is in the form of a letter on the tag behind the photo.

The sketch only calls for hearts at the bottom of the photo...but I got a bit carried away.

Thank you for visiting and leaving love.  Hopefully I will find time to share some photos with you later this week.  Have a lovely weekend.
