Getting this show on the road

Why is it so darn difficult to get blogging again.  For the past while all I have done is post Scrapbooking projects.  This weekend there was a blogger's meet up in Jozi...and I looked at the photos on Facebook and I was as jealous as hell.  I have made the most awesome friends through the medium of blogging.  In actual fact...today a year ago I was in Sanlameer with two of my best blogging friends for a week....and we had a blast. We talked, and talked...and talked some more.

Maybe I have simply lost the nerve to write about my life.
Maybe the pressure of reading and commenting on all the blogs out there has become too much.
Maybe it is a TIME thing....something I have way too little of.

Thing is...I miss it!
I miss the freedom we felt in getting it OUT THERE.
I miss that I no longer connect.
I miss the friendships that were formed.
I miss the feeling of knowing that somebody understands.

We are women.
We share emotions...we share the fact that we are wives and mothers...we have very much the same fears.  I really want to pick up the pieces and start blogging again on a regular basis...but where do I start?

  5. you just start. with nothing or with a photo or whatever's on your mind.

this was a good start :)

    I miss you too!

PS I have a dream to go away to the beach with like-minded women and stay for the weekend (or longer) in a flat and just connect, eat and take photos. Let's make it happen.

  6. I always love reading your blog posts Lynette. I feel that you speak from the heart and even though I don't have the courage to 'open up' like that, I always feel better about life when I 'listen' to you speak. You are an inspiration to many, so I hope you will blog again soon. Love to you. xx

  8. Begin by die begin. You have just done this. If you're struggling then maybe try gratitude posting? I LOVED those posts. Or you could do pics. I must have missed the beach pics from your latest holiday? You are the BEST beach photographer in the entire blogosphere.
And then? Just feel your way through it. Don't think too much. Don't force it. It will come. Have also been struggling a bit but I've been extremely busy and tense. Starting again this week.
    xx

  9. You can start with anything. Something that made you laugh, or cry, or get mad. Or even something delicious you ate...a thought, whatever really. You'll soon find your blogging legs again. :-)

  11. Yes I know, life just gets busy.. but friends are always going to just pick up from where they left off, or from where they are at that moment.. I have a friend in real life, who works full time, single mum.. so we dont get to see each other much.. but when we do, those months that we have been apart just feel like a couple of days.. we just start up again.. just hit the road running.. and away we go again.. We are here.. We see your post go up.. we pop in for a chat.. It does not matter we are oceans away from each other.. technology is such now that our message is pretty much instant and amazing.. just wish sometimes I could send a real life hug across the seas to you!! Take care..

  14. Since when is just posting scrapbooking projects a bad thing? You are sharing bits of yourself there too.

  15. Lynette, I think it's easier to Blog when you don't put pressure on yourself. It is definitely hard, when we spread our time over so many things, so if it's only once a week or once a month that you can post, then don't feel guilty about it! Just fit it in when it works best for you!

There's no start really, because you've already started! ;-) I was just thinking the other day too, that I have also made so many friendships through my scrapping and blogging...The Ya-Ya Sisterhood....Some amazing soulfood......

  19. :) You're so sweet and you have such an interesting life and I love to read your posts, but it's not something I do. Some little tidbits sometimes, but that's it. I don't feel comfortable sharing everything, but I love that you do it! So please continue, or start again or .... I'll be here to read it and comment on it! xxxxx

  21. I haven't been blogging or reading blogs for a while either Lynette, and you are so right.....you miss it......so hard to make the time. But I also feel something is missing, and it is the sharing of our crazy, busy lives with the friends we've made in our cyber-world. Thank you for always being such an inspiration, as wonderfully imperfect as you are!
