February CREATE projects - Scrapbook Generation

Hallo there.  It is such a privilege for me to be part of the CREATE team. You can read or download this free magazine HERE.   I love the sketches and colour challenges that we are sent to play with.  It is always so hard to keep everything under wraps until after the magazine is released.  You can download all the free sketches HERE. Here is my take on the sketch that we were given to work with this month.

Supply list:  Cardstock:  American Craft; Patterned papers:  My Minds Eye; Brads and enamel dots and stickers: My Minds Eye; Small alpha stickers: My Minds Eye; Alpha stickers: Doodlebug designs; Other: Silhouette Cameo.

My initial thought was that I would need Simple Stories papers for this...but then I just took the My Minds Eye papers and embellishments and cut everything to size.

Another challenge for the month was to take either a card sketch or tag sketch that was provided and make something else using it as inspiration.  I used the card sketch and made a single page layout:
Supply list:  Cardstock:  Bazzill; Patterned Papers: Pink Paislee; Flowers: Prima; Felt heart paper clip: Making Memories; Brads, My Minds Eye; Quote: Kaisercraft; Other: Silhouette Cameo.

This week my man hurt a muscle in his shoulder when he nearly fell into the pool.  He plays that makes it a "serious" injury.  Last night while I was rubbing some Deep Heat into his shoulder I reminded him of the eight years that I suffered with Fibromyalgia.  Eight years of unrelenting, constant pain.  It took eight years to find the pain blockers that work for me...and I have now been pain free for two years.  It is just by God's grace that I didn't fall into depression during that time.  I am thankful for...

#122 ~  5 little tablets each night that keeps the pain monster in it's cage.

#123 ~ that Christian didn't suffer worse injury than cuts and bruises when he fell of the back of Wynand's bakkie (pick up truck) this week.  He did have to get some stitches to close the cuts on his head.

#124 ~ that my man always, always sees that my car's tank is full.

#125 ~ for cool dips in the pool. Yesterday afternoon at 4:30 the temperature was 34 degrees C.

#126 ~ Stefan's infectious giggles

#127 ~ Singing loudly in my car on the way to work.

#128 ~ Three little words: "I am sorry"

#129 ~ Three little words: "I love you"

#130 ~ Bianca surprising me with a dress she made specially for me.

#131 ~ Long, tight hugs

#132 ~ Happy mail from Scrapbook Generation

#133 ~ Air conditioners

#134 ~ Pretty shoes (so shoot me...I am a girl)

#135 ~ Pedicures and golden nail polish.

What little things are you thankful for?

Brilliant photos too....I do hope that poor Christian isnt in too much pain! That is a lot of blood over his face :(((

  7. Oh gosh, I love those shoes! So glad Christian did not get hurt more. I am always so scared of kids on the back of a bakkie. And even with that shoulder K did so well in the golf

  8. Oh boy, I hope that Christian doesn't feel too bad!! Poor boy!! Your pages are fabulous!! Loving the 2 pager and that romantic page of you 2 is fab, love the dangling hearts and that Silhouette cut!

  9. Great projects, Lynette! I really liked the first issue of CREATE, and I'm looking forward to savoring the second issue when I get the chance (maybe this weekend).

I hope that your grandson feels better soon. It looks bad in the photo, with all that blood. Glad that it's not so bad as it looks.

    Happy Valentine's Day!

  10. Loved seeing your layouts in the current Create issue.......they certainly has chosen the best! I love both layouts although the second is my favorite, very pretty!

  11. Oh my goodness. I hope your dear gradation is OK, Lynette. I will keep him in my prayers. I love your layouts, too. And of course, your pretty flip-flops and pedi, too!

  12. Lovely layouts ... I loved seeing them in CREATE!

Hope your man's injury sorts itself out quickly and that he is back on the golf course in not time.
Wishing Christian a full and speedy recovery ... I cringed when I saw that photo!
Your toes look real cute ... I can't wait to book a pedicure!

  13. That is an awesome layout, I love how you have those stripes of banner with such pretty mixed of colors.
Sorry to hear about your grandson, hope he recover soon.

  14. Your double page spread is simply adorable and I love how many pictures you were able to use! The next layout is also wonderful! Great stuff!

Sorry to hear about all the injuries. I hope everyone is feeling better soon! I too try to look for the simple pleasures in life. Pedicures are always a great pleasure! Love the color you selected for your toes! My favorite moment this week is going to dinner with my son. Just the two of us. Though I reminded him to put his device away - it was nice to talk and enjoy a meal together. It is hard to believe he turned 12 today! Time flies!

  15. Beautiful layouts! Perfection - each of them! I do hope that there will be no more rides in the back of the bakkie from now on. I've always been too terrified of letting my kids travel in one after seeing so many paraplegics at my sister's institution who had come to be that way as a result of falling off the back of a bakkie. I definitely am thankful in February for the airconditioning & the pool! And also a nice pedi and lovely sandals too!!

  16. A gorgeous and such a colourful design with precious photos. Hope the shoulder heals soon as well as the little one. I remember growing up on the farm, during which riding on the back of an open bakkie was a sure highlight to each day. But we were never allowed to sit on the little built in bunks which of course made us sitting higher and nicer to see things around us, we always had to sit down on the flat surface of the bakkie. Shame it looks like he was really hurting there, but put up a very brave face.
