You make my heart smile - Guest Designing for ScrapFriends.

I am so very blessed to be guest designing for the ScrapFriends sketch challenge this month.  Here is the sketch that was given as inspiration.

By now you will know my scrapping style doesn't really allow for small photos.  I love a large focal photo.  So I used the sketch as inspiration for the circles on my page.  Here is how it turned out:

Supplies used:  Background:Canson pastel paper;  Cardstock:  Bazzill; Patterned papers:  Bo Bunny (Welcome Home);  Title, leaves and circles:  Silhouette Cameo;  Hearts:  Pink Paislee Artisan; Stickers:  Bo Bunny (Welcome Home);  Wooden Icon:  Prima:  Flowers: Prima;  Other:  PanPastels in Burnt Sienna, Turquoise and Turquoise Tint for the blended background,  Texture Paste and Lindy's Stamp Gang embossing powders in Byzantine Bronze and Midnight Teal.

Some close ups:
Here you can see how glossy the embossing powder becomes when you heat it up.

I first blended my background with PanPastels on Canson paper and then used a spray fixative to make the pastels permanent.  I cut the circle background and backed it with patterned paper.  I then completed the look and added an additional layer by hand stitching around the circles.

I love the soft PanPastels and the control you have over it...that is me...a control freak.

The look is completed with a few sprigs and leaves and a few flowers.

xoxo

  6. OMG! When I first saw this sketch I thought " that's a scary one", but you have totally changed the look for me. I can see past all that detail on the sketch as you have simplified it and made it your own. Just goes to show how other people see things differently. Loving those stitched circles and the flower cluster. xx
