Our Cape Town weekend - Blouberg Strand

I couldn't possibly bore you with the hundreds of photos I took all in one go...now can I?  So I have broken our Cape Town visit down into bite size chunks.  I hope you are going to enjoy the journey.  The weather was very cold and the item I wore ALL the time is my K-Way coat.  Most certainly my best purchase this season.

A photo of me and my man with Table Mountain in the background

My son, Wynand and his wife Nadia.

We arrived in time to watch the sun set over the sea.  Something we don't see in Port Elizabeth.  The perfect time to play with the camera...YES!!!?

Have you ever gripped the sun between your fingers and felt how powerful that made you feel :-P

Gorgeous colours of the sunset.  I love silhouettes.

This is my favourite...a magical moment?

The view from our balcony.

After our awesome weekend away I returned to a very yucky day at work on Tuesday.  I made myself a promise: I am finished! Had it! Season up! The whole toot.  Basically I fired myself...but then like a dutiful, obedient child I went back to work yesterday...remembering that to the Lord "obedience is better than sacrifice". ( 1 Sam 15:22).

xoxo

Also love silhouettes - the normal sunset one and the bird are my favourites, and how special for you to capture your son and DIL like that?!

    1. Thank you Julia, I don't even swim in the sea in Port Elizabeth, so there is no chance of me even putting my toe into the sea water of Beautiful Blouberg Strand,

    1. it is more the nature of our work. In the kind of ministry we so easily call "work" there is a lot of heartbreak, a lot of disappointment and sometimes you are left wondering if you have the ability to continue. You pray and hope that somehow the Lord had changed His mind. Then He gently tells you that He is not a man that changes his mind and whatmHe begins He completes. You have a choice, you can choose to be part of the miracle He is working or you can sit on the sidelines and watch. I then realise just how awesome it is to be called to make a difference.

  13. Love your photos ... Your son is one gorgeous boy!!!

Thanks for sharing your holiday with us.

I agree with your sentiments about being obedient ... however it is sometimes really difficult and we need to guard against us becoming rebels (especially later in life!!! LOL!!!)

  17. Wow, more gorgeous photos. The sunset is just pure magic.
Yup, somtimes it is hard to se any progress in the work we do, but you must trust that what you do is very meaningful and although many are not appreciative and give you a lot of heart ache the reward can be huge if you get a positive response. I am full of admiration for what you do at the 'mission'!!
