Boy meets Ocean - Scrap Africa - Fancy Pants Beach Bum

It is the beginning of a new month again.  Eish!  I cannot believe we are into July already.  It has been more than two weeks now that I have been struggling to shake a head cold.  I guess much of that is my own fault because I continued my exercise regime despite the cold.  My crazy thought is always that nothing cures as much as a good sweat.  Needless to say I got sicker and my sinuses got infected and I lost my voice....lovely stuff.  Anyhow, enough of complaining...it is time for the July sketch challenge on Scrap Africa.  Please go and see all the awesome inspiration by the Design Team.

Supplies used:  Cardstock: Bazzill: Patterned papers:  Fancy Pants Beach Bum and background paper is Creative Imaginations(IOD Beach cottage); Chipboard word and tree: K&Co; Buttons: My Minds Eye; Badge: American Craft; Other:  Birds cut with the Silhouette Cameo, Acrylic paint, Texture paste and The Crafters Workshop stencil.

To start this process, I mixed some red, orange and red acrylic paint into texture paste and applied it through  the 12x12 Crafters Workshop burst template.

I cut the banner from a piece of patterned paper and the birds were cut with the Silhouette Cameo.

I matted by patterned paper pieces on brown cardstock to make it stand out and look a little less busy....and added a few buttons and a badge.

I love the affect when the different colours texture paste mixes when applied through the template.

Here is the sketch:

We have some super chippies and goodies up for grabs from Fabscraps.
A randomly chosen winner will win these to play with.

We also have a second prize up for grabs.  These 2 fabulous stencils.

Okay, you have until the 14th July, and really hope you will play along.

  10. WOW, that background is stunning!! I love the whole layout and the title is perfect for this page.

Read your yummy post below and loved it. I'm not a great cook but have a few things I do well and crave them at least once a month. My favorite mac/cheese is Rachael Ray's, nice and creamy and uses white cheddar cheese, YUMMY!! I like the sounds of yours and they look so good. Your little baked treats sound good too.

Sorry for your head cold, we do forget to rest when sick don't we. Take the time to rest now and get better. I think our hot/cold temps over here are playing with my head too, woke up with a scratchy throat this morning, uuggg not what I want right now. Feel better!!
