Chocolate Monster - Sketch Week - Echo Park (walk in the park)

I am very honoured to be part of Allison Davis' sketch week this month.  Also check out the other sketches that are on sale as well as the sketch books that can be bought as e-books.  I am totally addicted to the Scrapbook Generation sketches.  It just gives one such a wonderful starting point to your layouts.    This is the free sketch download this week at Scrapbook Generation.  (please download your sketch at Scrapbook Generation).

Here is my take on the sketch.  These photos of Stefan were taken last Sunday after he had some really yummy chocolate pudding...you have got to love that little face.
Supply list:  Cardstock: Bazzil; Patterned papers: Echo Park (A walk in the park); Brads: My Mind Eye; Monster and Title: Silhouette cuts; Other: The Crafters Workshop stencil, brown acrylic paint and texture paste.

Variation #1 - I decided to go with the three photos...but I wanted to make the photos 3x3.  I therefore had to adjust the background piece sizes.  The yellow block is 9x7 and the blue background piece is 7.5x9.  The vertical strips were adjusted to 1-1/4x10.5.
Variation #2 - I replaced the starts with brads.  I also cut both my stripe strips to 1/4 inch and then added the cut the little pennants from patterned papers.

I cut the little monster with a Silhouette Cameo from maroon cardstock and then cut the little out of the title. I cut chocolate out, covered it in glossy accents and sprinkled brown glitter onto it.

A close up of the monster...I outlined the monster and the "monster" title with a white opaque pen.

Thank you for visiting my blog.

xoxo

    1. I invested in a good Canon printer years ago and it is only used for printing photos. Best investment ever as I can print in the size I need for each layout.

    2. What printer do you have? Can you print photos from a phone?

    3. Linda, I have a Canon ip4600. I download my phone photos to my computer with a USB cable and then print them using the Canon photo print software.

    1. Lynn, I purchased the Silhouette from Scrap a Doodles and I have used it to complete something on every layout I make. It is great for titles and embellishments.

  13. Cute layout! I love the little monster. I like using glossy accents on my letters too but I think I need to try some glitter next time like you did. I also appreciate you taking the time to give the dimensions of each piece of paper. It is very helpful.

  27. Sorry, that was a typo. I meant to end with an exclamation point, not a question mark.
