Brrrr! It is cold out there!

In Port Elizabeth we are currently experiencing a winter like never before.  Normally we have spring rains and winters where the average day temperature is 21 degrees C.  After the long drought however the rains have come and the weather reminds me very much of Cape Town weather.  IT IS COLD!  The past week the temperature very seldom rose above 17 degrees and today it is raining and very, very cold.  That means that where clothing is concerned we aren't geared for the weather and today I feel like just staying under the covers...watching the rain fall outside;-)  But there is work to do, so I had better gear up and start moving.

It is time for the reveal of Sketch #123 on The Scrappiest.  Here is a layout I made with photos taken of Lukas a year ago.  See we had a warm winter then.
I used papers and embellishments from the American Craft Dear Lizzie City Park line.
Sketch #123

Keep warm okay!
Featured project on 2 Peas on 8 June  2011.

  7. we are a bit better off - it doesn't rain in winter, but it is so surprising that the brightly shining sun doesn't warm you that much. and when it is +7 at night I become not very environmently conscious - my heater is on at night. i just hope that the weather in CT will be nice in the first 10 days on July... :-))
Lynette your LO is very much on time in this weather - very bright and warming! :-))

  8. Lynette you totally blew this sketch out of the water!!!! LOVE IT!!!! Such a happy vibe and love the little clouds. I guess weather is all what your body is used to. In Alberta, Canada we call 17c summer. ;) It was 6c on the weekend so our scheduled summer condo BBQ moved to the garage and then indoors. However, we have the clothes for all seasons. Lots of layers and down feather coats for winter. This year I plan on investing in a long one! On the flip side, I find it way to hot if it gets above 25c and I just want to hide inside with the AC. Too funny, eh!!

  9. Love your page! I must tell you it is h.o.t. here ugh we went right from winter to rain to summer. Spring my favorite got washed away. If it were 17 (62) here I would love it. Currently it is 34 (94) and so humid here. Do you have the humitity when you have your heat?
