Handmade gifts

This year the ladies in our cell group decided that we are going to give each other handmade gifts this year.  You guessed it...I scrapped them some pics...and here they are:

They loved their gifts...and in return I got these:

Very special...daily scripture in a teeny box.

Fresh water pearls with mother of pearl.

An awesome prophetic word with fragrant soap.

A pretty mosaic cross with a ribbon to hang it from.

This made me think.  We tend to go out and buy expensive gifts.  These  precious handmade gifts just mean so much more.  It tells me that the person who made it for me, loves me enough to spend time making me something special.

  1. Wonderful idea. I love those photo's. My family decided to stop buying gifts for adults last year. Instead we have a box at my house and everybody puts the money they would have spent in there. No pressure on anybody as to how much or when. Last year we had enough money to buy schoolbags for all the kids at our local place of safety. We make it a family outing and everybody, from the oldest to the youngest go with to hand over the gifts. The kids are already asking what we are doing this year.

Those are really great gifts, one of the reasons I love Steffi's gift as she made them herself for me, has a special touch to it, I know your friends will love the gift.

  12. Oh wow, how special are those personalised scrapped frames .. they will definitely be treasured for generations to come. And you are so right, its always a great feeling to give and receive something lovingly handmade, especially in this instant era where everything can be bought over the counter.
