Back to reality

We are back from our week in Plettenberg Bay. Seven days of bliss. Doing nothing but rest and relax and EAT. On our first day there I bought two books, A Thousand splendid suns by Khaled Hosseini and the final of the thirteen Left Behind books. The weather was pretty lousy for the first two days and I finished my first book on the second day. So what do you do when the weather is lousy...well...you do some whale watching from the window of your room....
They came this close...

...or you can sit in the Sea Lounge and stare out over the ocean while drinking countless cups of coffee or tea...reading a book and when you look up you could do some more whale watching...

...and you can watch the whale watchers on the boats...watching whales:)
We came across this extraordinary sight. Have you ever seen a motorcycle with a trailer hitched to it?
We could not believe our eyes...is it even legal?
We came across the bikers again at the Heads in Knysna. DH started chatting to them and they have traveled all the way from Johannesburg to the coast and where winding their way down to Cape Town.
The view of the Lagoon from the Heads.
Beautiful don't you think?
Some huge (mostly) holiday homes on the Heads.
DH posing for a pic.
On our final day Kobus Jr., Lache and the little ones joined us for breakfast at the Beacon Island Resort. The two men were then off to the golf course and I spent the morning chasing after Leane.
She loves water and I had to stop her a few times when she became a bit wild around the pool.
And off she is again at a speed...chasing the "ducks" (seagulls).
She reminds me so much of her father when he was that age...always on the run....singing at the top of her voice...she is just such a delight.
On the little beach in front of the hotel.
She loved playing in the sand and getting thoroughly wet.

Some photos I took on our way home. The clouds capped the mountain peaks beautifully.
These photos were taken just before you get to Humansdorp.
So here we are rested, relaxed and with quite a few kilograms to shed:)

xoxo

  14. Great pictures Lynette! I love whale watching! We're hoping to go out on a boat next Spring when they go by the Oregon coast.

Here in the States we see trailers behind motorcycles quite often! Not quite as big as the one you saw though. They usually match the bike too. Have a good day!

  20. Beautiful photos of the peaks behind the misty clouds. Can't believe how quickly Leane is growing. I think that mcycle with the trailer is legal. One will actually be amazed at all the accessories one can get for motorcycles. Glad you are all rested. Keep well.
