New Years wishes

This is the time of the year when we reflect on the year that was and start thinking about the year that lies ahead. There is so much I am thankful for this year. My son, Wynand, married his sweetheart Nadia and they make each other so happy. Nadia gave birth to our beautiful grandson Lukas. Bianca finished school and started college and her whole outlook on life changed and became more positive. I am so thankful that God has blessed us with a wonderful relationship with our children. We were so blessed in our ministry this year...God truly came through for us in every situation and met our every need. With the economy on the downturn and business and individuals doing less for charities....I can only say "Thank you Lord, that we are so dependant on You and not on the government or on the economy."

Now... I must say that I do not believe in New Year's Resolutions, because I have never been able to keep them. I have however come across this very nice poem that I would like to share with you.
Christian New Year’s Resolutions

How can I use the New YearTo better serve my Lord?
I’ll read my Bible every day,And be more in accord.
I’ll find new ways to serve others;
I’ll love my neighbor, too.
I’ll focus on "give" instead of "get"
In everything I do.
I’ll forgive the people I’m mad at;
Angry feelings I’ll discard;
I’ll try to love my enemies,
Even though it’s hard.
In the new year, I
’ll lift people up,
Instead of putting them down.
I’ll fill my heart with love and joy,
And never wear a frown.
I’ll let go of my worries;
I’ll put it all in His hands;
I’ll repent and try to sin less,
And obey all His commands.
These new year’s resolutions
Are difficult, at best,
But there’s something I can do each day
That will put my soul at rest:
I’ll love my Lord with all my heart,
With all my mind and soul,
And if I do that essential thing,
All the rest will be in control.

I received these word via e-mail the other day
I wish you enough

I wish you enough sun to keep your attitude bright no matter how gray the day may appear.
I wish you enough rain to appreciate the sun even more.
I wish you enough happiness to keep your spirit alive and everlasting.
I wish you enough pain so that even the smallest of joys in life may appear bigger.
I wish you enough gain to satisfy your wanting.
I wish you enough loss to appreciate all that you possess.
I wish you enough hellos to get you through the final good-bye.
May each of you experience a wonderful 2009. God Bless.
xoxo
